WE CAN HELP
The International Union of Elevator Constructors has worked for over 100 years to define the issues and collectively resolve these problems for both our large international and smaller local and family-owned affiliates.
Education
We offer a nationally recognized apprenticeship program administered through local Joint Apprenticeship Training Committees that are comprised of equal parts Management and Labor representation, giving a fair and honest approach to the program. Our National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) is the industry leader in education for both the apprentice and the mechanic looking to continue training alike. There is no administrative burden on individual companies to manage this world-class education.
Benefits
The National Elevator Industry Benefits plan is your one-stop for employee benefits offering the best healthcare in the industry, as well as pension, annuity, and non-matching 401K for every employee. A five-year contract allows for you as the employer to forecast costs for today, as well as into the future. Questions and billing issues are all handled within the NEI Benefit office, eliminating the administrative burden on the employer.
Experienced Employees
As a signatory employer, you have access to over 29,000 members of the IUEC throughout the US, Canada and Puerto Rico for your peak employment needs.
Drug Testing
A drug-free workplace is imperative to the long-term success of any company. Our employers and IUEC have an agreed-upon comprehensive drug testing, rehabilitation, and disciplinary program that ensures the safety of every employee without bias.
New Employees
Your local JATC works with State and Federal entities to ensure the best possible recruitment process, ensuring qualified employees from the very start. The process includes an application, testing, and a comprehensive interview process in which each candidate will interview with JATC members from both management and labor, allowing for an exceptionally high success rate for new employees to become long-time employees.
Safety
Safety on the job and beyond is paramount within our organization from the top down. If you simply need buy-in from your employees, we are experienced in this. Safety training is done both in our classrooms and within our signatory companies’ organizations, with CPR, Hazard Awareness, OSHA 10, and OSHA 30 certifications being the integral part of the safety training. One thing is for sure, we all strive for zero accidents and zero injuries every day.
